The Story of a Life

How do you move on when so much is left behind?

Carol moved home to the country to care for her mother after a tragic accident. Now, 17 years later, it's her turn to start over, a new job, a new life in the big city.

But how can she move on when there is so much left behind?

Her mother was keeping items for old friends, boxed up and stored secretly for years and Catholic guilt demands these be dealt with before she can start with a clean slate. Helped by her mother's carer and the local butcher, Carol is on a mission to reunite precious memories, before time runs out.

Everyone has secrets, but is she hiding the biggest secret of all?

The Story of a Life is a heartfelt story of a daughter torn between duty and desire.

ABOUT LAENE

Colorful Flower Field

Laene has always been a storyteller. As a little girl in primary school, she told her teachers that she wanted to be an author when she grew up. She hasn't changed her mind yet.  Along the way she has had a career in Sydney radio, worked for a religious Minister, prepared tax returns and now works in the performing arts.

With a passion for live theatre, she volunteers at her local community theatre, making costumes and selling lollies. She loves her garden, reading and most of all her family. Share her inspirations, her frustrations and the tales that are yet to be told.
